Kjaer Weis Eyeshadow Collection

If you are familiar of the brands in the green beauty community, then you must know Kjaer Weis. If you are not.. then you are in for a treat.

Hi everyone! How is your week so far? In this post I wanted to talk about my long-time obsession of Kjaer Weis eyeshadows. I have heard SO MANY good things about this particular product but held off buying it for so long because of the hefty price tag (sigh).

Kjaer Weis is a Danish eco makeup brand created by Kristen Kjær Weis. She created a brand formulated with organic non-harmful ingredients while still maintaining beautiful color pigmentation and amazing formulas. All their products are packaged in a very sleek red lacquer, grain-textured boxes, like little jewelry cases that houses the main packaging, which is bold metal compacts with KW logo. They are honestly one of the most luxurious makeup I have ever owned. People always ask me what brand of makeup whenever I bring out the packaging, because of the uniqueness of it. I totally dig it!

The ingredients are really good, they do not have fillers, and almost all of their products are either certified natural or organic and they use amazing ingredients such as shea butter, bamboo stem powder, any many more amazing ingredients!

Moving on to the eye shadow, they usually come in these packaging but I actually bought the re-fill because it is then more affordable and I honestly hate so much hassle of individual eye shadows. I always put them in a Z-Palette.

Here is how I lined my Kjaer Weis Eyeshadows. My Kjaer Weis eye shadows are the top row (the smaller pans). From L-R: Onyx, Divine, Blue Wonder, Pretty Purple, Earthy Calm, Magnetic, Wisdom, Charmed, Cloud Nine

The eye shadows without primer or anything as a base. Shades from L-F: Onyx, Divine, Blue Wonder, Pretty Purple, Earthy Calm, Magnetic, Wisdom, Charmed, Cloud Nine

The eye shadows with primer, the Gabriel Cosmetics eye primer in neutral.

The Shades
  • Onyx described as slate-black shadow with iridescent to it. It is precisely that, and I love how you can see specks of glitter through when you use it, because sometimes black can be a bore to wear.
  • Divine described as a neutral classic grey. It has a satin finish and is a beautiful cool-toned grey color for monochromatic looks
  • Blue Wonder is described as the perfect blue for every skin tone. It is a beautiful color if you like to go outside your comfort zone and not just wear neutral eye shadows. To me it has a teeny bit of turquoise undertones to it when you blend it out and is a unique matte color.
  • Pretty Purple is described as a sophisticated purple color. It has grey undertones to it and if you are expecting a straight up purple, then you will not like this color. However, I love how it gives a taupe-ish purplish color that is so hard to describe but yet so beautiful to wear.
  • Earthy Calm described as a versatile warm brown. This is one of my favorite colors they offer! So beautiful! It has red undertones but blends beautifully and very suitable to darken up any look without being too harsh.
  • Magnetic MY FAVORITE SHADE! Described as a brownish-gold shadow. It is a warm medium brown color with specks of gold shimmer in it and it is absolutely beautiful on the crease, all the way to the lid. It is just the perfect color for blending eye shadow and a great versatile color all around. If I can recommend one eye shadow to get from the whole line, it would be this one!

  • Wisdom is described as a mix of gray, brown, and purple creating a complex taupe hue. It is exactly that with gold flecks in it and it has a satin finish. Such a beautiful color even though I like my warm-toned shadows!

  • Charmed is a versatile beige. It gives you a natural looking sheen, and on my eyelid it looks like a 'your skin but better' type of color. Great for all over the lids, and as a highlighter for darker skin tones.
  • Cloud Nine my second favorite shade! Described as a light ivory color with gorgeous pearly finish. It has gold reflects through it and it is an absolutely beautiful lid of brow bone color.
The Pigmentation
The pigmentation is amazing! These eye shadows are all so very pigmented and they are easy to blend. Some of the colors are a little bit more patchy than the others (Charmed, Pretty Purple) but otherwise great color payoff.

The Price
The individual eye shadows retail for $45 or ‎£32 or you can get the refill and get a total score for $27 or £17. I honestly think they are such an expensive product and quite the splurge, but when you purchase them you know they are made with great ingredients and without fillers unlike any conventional brands, so keep that in mind! I will gladly repurchase these eye shadows if I ever run out of them just because I think they are worth the money.

Where You Can Get Them
To my Indonesian readers, here are a few websites where you can get these bad boys
  1. Naturisimo You can buy them through directly, but you do have to use a Credit Card.
  2. SutoCorp This is a buying service that you can buy anything from any website without the hassle of a credit card, and you can chose a method that can get your packages shipped directly to your house! I use this many times throughout the years.
  3. Concierge Alle An Indonesian and UK based shopping service!

I hope you are well

Make Up For Ever HD Foundation Dupe: 100% Pure Healthy Skin Foundation

Hello!

In today's post, I wanted to talk about one of my favorite natural foundation, the 100% Pure Healthy Skin Foundation. I've had this foundation since the middle of 2015 and purchased it because a lot of good reviews (supposedly, they're great for oily or combination/oily skin, namely, myself).

This foundation gives me a light to medium coverage that is very buildable, and it looks super HD giving your skin a skin-like finish. If you have severe pimple or discoloration, this foundation will not cover it as the coverage is more on the lightweight spectrum. I would say it gives my skin a satin finish so it is not a matte foundation, rather more of a skin-like finish. Throughout the day, since I have an oily t-zone I will get oily but it doesn't bother me as it is mostly the case with any foundations I have tried so far.

The foundation comes in a pump dispenser so the product doesn't run anywhere when you apply them, which is always a plus! I am in the shade Peach Bisque and it matches my skin very nicely if I don't build up the coverage too much, because I find that it does have a little bit of peachy undertones (I prefer yellow undertones on my skin tone).

I think this foundation is great for people with normal to oily skin as it does tend to sit on dry patches so I don't think it will work on the favor of people with dry skin.

Yours truly, bare-faced before foundation.

After one pump of foundation blended into the skin with the ELF Beautifully Bare Blending Brush
(purchased here)

Two pumps of foundation with a light wash of make-up on my face

Overall, I personally think this is a great foundation for going out and formal events because it gives your skin a great coverage without giving a cakey finish. A total recommended product for Asian skin types like myself!

Grunge Matte Brown Makeup

Hi guys! ♥

After months and months of hiatus from blogging, I finally am back in the game and back to filming! 2015 was a tough year for me, I went through a phase where my heart just was not in it to do things wholeheartedly and it sadly affects the amount of time I actually devote to posting things I love here. Nonetheless, this year I wanted to focus on making more contents and posting more on my blog so stay tuned for reviews and other things :) Yeay!

Anyway, I came up with this 'sophisticated grunge' look that incorporated matte colors on the eyes, which is a rare occurrence in my daily life to be honest. Most of the time I am a total shimmery sparkly glittery eye shadow type of person and was actually surprised at how good this look came out and the compliments I got. Brown is a universally flattering color on all eye colors, and I hope you find this video helpful!

All The Rave: ILIA Beauty Lip Products

If you are considering to gradually switch to natural, green, and clean makeup, then lipstick is one of the first few things you may want to start with. According to recent study, many toxic chemicals that lead to cancer are found in a tube of lipstick; including lead, cadmium, chromium, aluminum, and five others. And if you're lost in translation, they are basically toxic ingredients that can cause brain and nervous system damage, and they are also suspected carcinogens! The daily ingestion of lipstick on average for women is around 24-87 miligrams of lipstick, which is really scary as it goes straight into the bloodstream..

ILIA Beauty is one of the first few brands I purchased when I decided to make the switch to natural/organic makeup. I was first drawn to their sleek, contemporary packaging that is absolutely stunning! The company philosophy is amazing, they are gluten-free, dairy-free, USDA certified organic, and of course cruelty-free (we don't want cute little animals to suffer, right?). All of their lip products are packaged in a recycled aluminum, and they are produced with amazing organic ingredients only to nourish and rejuvenate your skin. Now THAT, is conscious beauty my friends :-)

I have collected a few of their products and I honestly love them! There are still a lot I don't own in my collection, but I will slowly build them up for sure.

ILIA Beauty Lipstick and Lip Conditioner

L-R: In My Room, Nobody's Baby, Femme Fatale, Dizzy, Shell Shock, Wild Child

ILIA Beauty Lipstick Crayon

Swatches

Lipstick

A moisturizing and rich formula that has an amazing color payoff. These lipsticks have a sheen finish that gives a subtle shine, and it is not drying at all. Though it may not stay on my lips for as long as I hoped, I really like the formulation. Their lipstick will be the first thing I recommend people if they want to get something from ILIA, as I imagine nobody will hate it.
  • In My Room
A medium pink color with warm undertones. For me, this is the 'my lips but better' kind of color, and I often reach for this one when I don't know what color to use on my lips, because it's a very versatile color that works on many different looks. A staple in every girl's lipstick collection.
  • Wild Child
Very vibrant red with orange undertones to it, it's beautiful but I prefer reds with blue undertones (on me, personally). I still love this shade nonetheless, and even though I prefer blue undertones, I found that this is my go to red-shade ever since I got it.
  • Femme Fatale
My personal favorite probably out of all the red lipsticks I've tried so far. It's a deep burgundy red with the right amount of berry undertones to it (looks darker than pictured above). I never would have figured myself loving this kind of color, but somehow the formulation just works because it's a sheer deep color that is opaque at the same time. (I know that's a contradictive statement but there is no other way to explain it! haha). Bottom line: top recommendation!

Tinted Lip Conditioner

For girls (and guys) who wants a sheer color with the property of a lip balm, their lip conditioners have very buildable color, and are even more moisturizing on the lips than the lipstick. Though I prefer the lipstick, this is the perfect formula if you are just starting with makeup, or maybe want to buy something for daily use.
  • Nobody's Baby
A true nude color with brown undertones that is perfect paired with smokey eyes, or even for daily use. I don't reach for this one as often but it's still a beautiful color nonetheless.
  • Shell Shock
Coral pink! On me this is a light pinky shade with a tinge of pop. Perfect for the holiday season.
  • Dizzy
I got this on a whim because I saw how beautiful it looked on Lily from Genuineglow, but I don't think this kind of color suits me. It's a pale orange color that's very beautiful on its own, but I love layering this with In My Room.

Lip Crayons

My favorite out of their whole lip products line.. I love the formula, the color payoff, everything! they're really easy to work with as they come in a stick form so I don't have to worry about being neat to apply them. I do my make up in a hurry 80% of the time so it's really handy to have them in my purse. Just slather it on the lips and you're good to go. So easy!
  • Dress You Up
My favorite go-to lip product. It's a pinky mauve that is similar with the Kylie Jenner lip trend (that everyone was obsessed about). Beautiful color that will suit many skin tones.
  • Iko Iko
A warm shimmery brown. I was skeptical toward this one at first, but I found myself loving it so much because it's a very warm, almost a terracotta color that is beautiful on its own, and layered with other colors.

WHERE TO GET

If you live in Indonesia and is interested in purchasing them, you can buy through this online store, and give them the link of products you want to get from BeautyBay, Beingcontent, or Naturisimo.

New Pacifica Beauty Buys

Sooo.. I recently ran out of my favorite serum EVER (which I NEED to write about soon) and decided to repurchase them so I ran over to iHerb only to find myself checking out my cart with a whole lot of products I did not even intend on buying. Story of my life. Sigh.

If you are not familiar to brands in the green beauty industry, Pacifica Perfumes Inc. is an amazing company that produces perfumes, skincare, and makeup with safe ingredients that are packaged in a recyclable packaging. They are gluten free, vegan, AND cruelty-free! Yeay for more plus points!

These pacifica beauty products are among many that I decided to get impulsively. I have been eyeing them for a while now, and honestly I am astounded that my first impression on them are really good!! I am definitely not someone who is easily impressed with products, hype or no hype, but I find these makeup from pacifica are really worth checking out, as their performance is amazing, and they are (in my opinion) a very great value for the money. In order to provide you with in-depth reviews on these, I have to play around with them for a while first, so stay tuned for that!

  1. Pacifica Solar Complete Mineral Palette, here
  2. Pacifica Devocean Natural Lipstick in Tenderness, here
  3. Pacifica Devocean Natural Lipstick in Natural Mystic, here
  4. Pacifica Natural Eye Pencil in Bare, here
  5. Pacifica Natural Eye Pencil in Jet, here
  6. Pacifica Ultra CC Cream Radiant Foundation in Natural/Medium, here
I purchased them from iHerb, an online store that sells nutritional supplements and other healthy products (skin care, make up, basically my thing haha) internationally with affordable shipping rates.

FOR OAKSVA

Happy International Women's Day! This post is dedicated to praise the beauty of women all over the world as a celebratory gesture; no matter your skin color, your height, your weight, the color of your eyes, you are all beautiful in your own way and nobody should tell you different! (Not even yourself)

To my Indonesian girls/women out there, I am writing this post especially dedicated to you all exotic creatures.

So about a week ago, I was given the opportunity to do the makeup for an advertisement for OAKSVA, an Indonesian accessories line. Being a firm believer of anything that supports the beauty of my country, of course I said yes!

The models I worked with are two very gorgeous, tanned, glowing skin Indonesians. There wasn’t anything to cover on their faces really, and I did not want to do anything too heavy so the OAKSVA creative design and I came up with a natural skin makeup, a semi-thick eyeliner, and lots of lashes.

This is how the makeup turned out on these gorgeous girls, what do you think?

Model: Alyani Sajidah & Shanna Hassan

Products Used
Face: I applied a sheer layer of the Vapour Organic Soft Focus Foundation (shade s115 and s125 mixed), Christopher Drummond Concealer, and set them with a powder foundation from Lily Lolo (Warm Honey)

Cheeks: Contoured with Alima Pure Sombra Contour Powder, blended the contour with Alima Pure Mauna Loa Bronzer, and applied Alima Pure Sahara Blush on the apples of the cheeks, with TheBalm Mary Loumanizer applied on the cheekbones.

Eyes: I applied a light wash of W3LL PEOPLE Bio Bronzer on the crease, with Alima Pure Luminous Shimmer Eyeshadow in Sphinx on the lid, and brighten the inner corners with Alima Pure Shimmer Eyeshadow in Buttercream.

Lips: I prepped the lips with Waxelene, then lined them with Honeybee Gardens Lipliner in Zen, top it off with Silknaturals Strut Lipstick.

OAKSVA is an amazing brand that supports the beauty of Indonesia through their collection of accessories using our country’s herb and spices, and I am so honored to be working with them. Check them out through their website here.
